National Association for Home Care Accreditation means your Home Care service meets twelve standards set forth by the National Association for Home Care, the nationally recognized accreditation body for Home Care Aide services.

The standards address the following:


  • The agency provides professional supervision of the service that ensures safe, effective, and appropriate care to clients
  • The agency's home care staff has been appropriately trained for the tasks they perform
  • There are written eligibility criteria to ensure consistency in the development of your services
  • There is a Client's Bill of Rights
  • There is responsible safety management in the care environment


  • There are sound personnel management practices for the recruitment, selection, retention, and termination of staff
  • You have written personnel policies and job descriptions

The Community

  • The agency plays an active role in assessing the health and social welfare needs in the community and in meeting them
  • The agency informs the community about its services
  • The agency evaluates its services


  • The agency has legal authorization to operate and governance and fiscal structure to ensure accountability
